Rocha do Chambre hike

Rocha do Chambre is a 4-hour hike on a trail in the north of Terceira Island. Along the trail you will walk through forests of imposing Japanese cedars and along stream paths, admire a volcanic caldera next to geothermal wells, and photograph, from the top of Rocha do Chambre, a unique landscape of the island’s interior. The trail is of moderate difficulty, flat in places, with a maximum elevation gain of around 235 m, on a circular route of roughly 9 km.
